Ski season is in full swing and we can’t wait to welcome you to our homes this winter! Many of the ski resorts have created their winter operating plans for the upcoming season, which emphasize safety and social distancing. For your convenience, we have compiled a comprehensive guide to the 2020/2021 ski season, including safety protocols, reservations processes, ticket info, and more.

Park City

Please check the Deer Valley Winter Lift Ticket Page for availability. Pre-purchase your lift tickets in advance to guarantee your spot on the mountain, especially if you have booked lessons, rentals or other products. Day-of, on-site, lift ticket sales will not be available this ski season.

Alterra plans to control resort visitation levels to avoid overcrowding. Access will be prioritized for season pass holders and the number of daily lift tickets will be tightly regulated and will be available by advance purchase only. Walk-up window sales will be eliminated, and the sale of some undated lift ticket products will be discontinued until further notice .For those using daily lift tickets, please purchase online well in advance of your visit to guarantee the best rate and avoid disappointment.

COVID Safety Measures

  • While on Deer Valley property, masks or face coverings are required to be worn by guests at all times except when actively skiing and eating or drinking while seated at a table.
  • Physical Distancing on Chairlifts and Gondolas - Deer Valley’s lift policy limits chairlift occupancy to people from the same guest party; two willing individuals or staff, not from the same party, seated on opposite sides of a quad or triple chairlift; or one individual guest per double or gondola cabin. Face coverings are required while waiting in line, loading, and unloading chairlifts.
  • Physical Distancing in On-Mountain Restaurants
  • Lessons - In addressing the health and safety guidelines for COVID-19 this season, Deer Valley has a limited our selection of children’s group lessons to keep our guests, staff, and community as safe as possible. Private Lesson allow guests to create an exclusive experience that can accommodate up to five people in the same party.

Big Sky

Reservation Process

In general, there is no intent to limit access to the mountain. Following are details by pass type:

Big Sky Season Passholders are welcome to access the resort any day of the season their pass is valid, at any time during operating hours, and walk up to the lifts as usual.

Lift Ticket holders Lift tickets and mountain products will have limited availability to manage guest volume and ensure the safety of guests, employees, and the Big Sky Community. If products for selected dates are "sold out" online, they will not be available for walk-up or phone sales. Online tickets must be purchased at least one day in advance of your ticket start date.

Please check the Big Sky Resort Lift Ticket Calendar for availability. Tickets will not be available online or at ticket windows on days that show as sold out on the calendar.

Ikon Passholders can ski when their passes permit access and must use Ikon's reservation system to reserve ski days. Details are forthcoming.

Mountain Collective Passholders will also have access to Big Sky Resort when their passes permit access. Mountain Collective passholders may be required to make a reservation before their visit.

Sun Valley

To maintain physical distancing on the mountain, this season Bald Mountain is limiting the number of daily lift tickets.


Important Notice for Sun Valley Guests:
The State of Idaho currently prohibits any indoor or outdoor gatherings of more than 10 individuals unless they are from the same household.

Reservation Process

Currently, Sun Valley Resort does not plan to implement a reservation system or limit visitation for Sun Valley Season Pass holders on Bald Mountain or Dollar Mountain. If necessary, Sun Valley Resort will manage peak day access through day-ticket restrictions. With that in mind, we highly recommend that you purchase day tickets (if needed) online in advance of your trip.

COVID Safety Measures

  • Masks are required in the City of Sun Valley by city ordinance
  • On-mountain lodges and restaurants - indoor seating has been reduced in all lodges and we will add to our outdoor dining options.
  • Equipment rentals will be available through online reservations. Children’s and adult SnowSports offerings will continue on Dollar and Bald Mountain with an emphasis on pre-arranged private and limited group instruction.

Reservation Process

  • At this time, reservations will not be required. However, Squaw will manage general visitation by temporarily eliminating the sale of “walk-up” tickets at the window and dynamically controlling the sale of advance purchase tickets.
  • If day lift tickets are still available for purchase on the website on the day you want to ski, then you will be permitted to purchase them through that online channel. However, day-of ticket availability online is not a guarantee, and walk-up tickets will not be available to purchase on-site.

COVID Safety Measures

  • Masks are required in indoor common areas and encouraged outdoors when unable to ensure physical distance
  • Physical distancing should be maintained, including when in our parking lots, restrooms, retail and food outlets
  • Credit cards or debit cards are the only methods of payment at this time

Reservation Process

  • Access will be prioritized for season pass holders. The number of daily lift tickets sold each day will be tightly regulated and will be available by advance purchase only.
  • Walk-up lift tickets will not be available.
  • Tickets will be sold via advance purchase only through MammothMountain.com, the Mammoth Mobile App, and through 800.MAMMOTH. Walk-up lift tickets will not be available. Starting December 1, 2020, tickets sold at least 14 days in advance will be mailed to reduce the need for in-person pick up in lodges. Availability may be limited to manage on-mountain capacity.

COVID Safety Measures

  • Mammoth Mountain has invested over $1 million in COVID-19 related resort enhancements, including increased “grab and go” food and beverage offerings, additional outdoor seating and quick transaction technology.
  • Masks are required indoors, in lift lines and on lifts, in gondolas, shuttles, and when social distancing with others outside your travel group is not possible.

Important Information For Taos Guests:
The State of New Mexico limits short-term lodging guests to no more than 5 individuals per home. This Order is in effect until January 29th, 2020.

Travel Guidelines:
Important COVID-19 Travel Requirements: At this time, if you are traveling from out of state into New Mexico, you must self-quarantine for 14 days. As you get closer to your vacation, please be sure to check the New Mexico Department of Health Travel Restrictions page to understand the travel restrictions in place that may impact your stay.

Stay informed about local COVID-19 impacts through the VisitTaos.org travel website for information on the State of New Mexico Public Health Order prior to your trip. Learn about the mandatory quarantine/testing requirements, air travel details, restaurant operations, retail updates, and details on salons, spas and gyms.

Reservation Process

Lift tickets must be purchased online, in advance of any visit. Tickets may sell out during peak times, including holidays and weekends, so you are encouraged to book tickets as far in advance as possible.

COVID Safety Measures

  • The mountain will be limited to 50% of peak capacity of skiers and riders, allowing for social distancing.
  • All guests must wear a face covering in all public places.
  • Guests must social distance six feet, avoid gathering in groups, and follow the resort procedures, which are clearly marked throughout the resort.
  • Cashless transactions - Payment for all dining, rentals, ticketing, and retail will be via smartphone, credit, debit, or prepaid card only.
  • Only private lessons will be offered this season. These can include up to five guests visiting together.
  • There will not be a parking lot shuttle this season, but there is a new, skier drop-off area where guests and gear can be dropped for convenient access to the base area.
  • Public, indoor gathering places throughout the resort will be significantly limited, so skiers and riders will need to put on boots and gear in designated outdoor areas, in their cars, or in their lodging. Although there will be no locker access, a no-touch basket check will be available to guests for a fee.

  • If this happens, Aspen/Snowmass cannot guarantee that every passholder will be able to obtain a reservation on the days they want.
