The Sea Islands’ Team is looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and reliable Inspectors and Housekeeping Independent Contractors to join our amazing Natural Retreats’ team! We are seeking to expand our Inspector and Housekeeping Teams to be vendors for us! You will perform a variety of both light and deep cleaning, inspecting, and organizing tasks. The region includes Saint Helena Island, Harbor Island, Fripp Island, and Beaufort.

Housekeeping position pays from $70-$330 per home dependent upon its size

Inspecting position pays up to $120 per full day on a Saturday.

Job Responsibilities

  • Clean and/or inspect residential homes with a team-based business model
  • Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment
  • Follow instruction and learn detailed cleaning methods
  • Provide Amazing service and product to onsite guests, homeowners, and coworkers at all times
  • Mark and count linens
  • Organize and stocking shelves within the department’s environment
  • Cleaning, dusting, removing trash, vacuuming, etc.
  • To use the correct cleaning products for the relevant jobs and ensure hygiene levels are kept to a high standard
  • Regularly change cleaning materials ex: wipes, dusters etc. to ensure they are effective and hygienic
  • Using the checklist for each residence ensure that all areas have been cleaned and prepared to the required standard
  • Change all bed linens to a high standard. Ensuring all linen is clean, unmarked and presentable. Escalate to the relevant manager if linen is marked or damaged.
  • Ensure toiletries are replenished
  • Review each residence throughout the clean and escalate any housekeeping and/or maintenance issues with the relevant manager
  • Follow established health and safety procedures for using cleaning chemicals
  • Execute standard security measures whenever entering or exiting the properties.
  • Approach all tasks and requests with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Escalate any general issues with the residences to the relevant manager promptly.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned


  • Housekeepers are responsible for bringing own cleaning supplies and materials to perform the contracted work
  • Previous experience in cleaning/inspecting is required
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation to the properties
  • Must complete a cleaner/ inspector training for our standards
  • Must have cleaning equipment, business license, and liability insurance if applicable

  • Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the Contractor is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The Contractor frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands/ fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position will require walking for periods of time throughout the day on uneven surfaces or across company property and into homes. The Contractor needs to be frequently moving about inside and outside the homes and must be able to walk, move, and traverse for 85% of the day. This individual works in outdoor weather conditions up to 85% of the day. The Contractor may have to reach above shoulder height or below the waist or lift as required to file or store materials throughout the day. The Contractor must be able to lift 50 lbs. and use proper lifting techniques. Lift items include but are not limited to cleaning supplies, linens, boxes, etc.

    * Stand or sit stationary position: must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 15% of the workday
    * Walk, move, traverse: must be able to be active up to 85% of the workday. This person in this position needs to be frequently moving about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, cleaning supplies and equipment, etc. as well as the interior of the home in the Natural Retreats’ portfolio and across company property
    * Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place and Detect: Position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine and computer printer. Also, this person will constantly use hands to inspect, complete and maintain inventory, check products in and out, etc.
    * Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance Ascend/Descend: Traverse frequently throughout the homes, properties, and climb stairs, ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights and ceiling fans on occasion
    * Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Position self (to), move constantly, positions self to move inside and outside homes and across company property on uneven surfaces, including but not limited to steep hills, driveways, etc.
    * Talk/hear communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information: The person in this position frequently communicates with the staff, vendors, housekeepers, inspectors, guests, and homeowners. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    * See, detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and access: This individual must be able to detect all areas of cleanliness and recognize when items are worn and/or a safety issue or concern. Must be able to make judgments to ensure the proper upkeep of homes and to ensure guest and homeowner satisfaction.
    * Taste/smell detect, distinguish, and determine: Occasionally, this individual must be able to distinguish odor that may indicate a hazard and/or an unclean environment.
    * Carry weight, lift move, transport, position, put, install, and remove: Frequently, this individual moves items such as linens and/or home goods weighing 50-75 lbs. across parking lots and inside the interior of homes, including up and down stairs.
  • Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    Due to the nature of the contracted work, the Housekeepers/Inspectors should be flexible with their hours. Weekends and holidays are required and are generally busy with guest arrivals/departures. Hours are subject to fluctuate and will vary based upon occupancy, arrivals, and departures of guests.
