5 Reasons to Visit Tybee Island this Season

Who says it has to be summer to enjoy a visit to America's happiest seaside town? In Tybee Island, it's paradise all year long, which makes it the perfect destination no matter what season it is. Here are the top 4 reasons we absolutely love Tybee Island in the off season and for the holidays.

Incredible Southern Cuisine

As the weather cools, now is the perfect time to get your hands (and your mouth!) on some homemade, Southern fare. Our Tybee favorites include the Crab Shack for the Louisiana Crawfish, Tybee Island Fish Camp for oysters, and A-J’s Dockside for conch fritters.

Day Trips to Savannah

Voted one of the 'Top 5 Best Cities in North America' by Travel & Leisure, Savannah is a haven for history buffs, boasting famous landmarks like the Bonaventure Cemetery and the Mercer Williams House Museum. Tybee Island is just a quick 30 minute drive away, making it the ideal home base from which to enjoy a beautiful autumn day in charming Savannah.

Peaceful Beaches

Take advantage of the offseason on the quiet beaches, which are stunning on a cool day. You haven’t experienced true bliss unless you’ve taken a blanket and your favorite book to a secluded beach! Forecasts for the next couple of weeks call for sunny days in the mid 70’s to low 80s—the perfect weather for a day at the beach with your toes in the sand!

Holiday Shopping
Get ahead on your holiday shopping and browse local favorites including Latitude 32 for clothes, Shell Art Gift Shop for classic Tybee paraphernalia, and Swizzle and Shake for quirky gifts. We won't blame you if you decide to treat yourself to an early holiday present or two...you deserve it!

Amazing Holiday Celebrations
Tybee is an incredible place to spend the holidays, between the cozy beachfront homes and the wide variety of events throughout the season. Join us in celebrating the holidays at events like the Floating Parade on December 11, or A Lighthouse Christmas on December 10 & 17. See below for more information!
